Mark Zuckerberg : The real face of Facebook.

College dropout. Billionaire. Controversial?

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO & Founder of Facebook.

If he wasn't the owner of the biggest social networking site of the world right now, this man from his appearance and demeanour would pass for someone who would just be happy with a 9 to 6 job after they graduate from college. Hence, the saying goes "Never judge a book by it's cover"

Mark seemed to be a quick learner, his father taught him ATARI basic programming in his early teens and from their his journey began.

From developing a software which he called "ZuckNet" which enabled him to connect all the computers between his home and the dental office to communicate. Mark's friends at that age would play and fool around, draw and paint for leisure, he was even known to turn his friends' ideas, drawings and paintings in to video games.

Moving forward to his late teens and life in HARVARD. Mark's life was no less than a rollercoaster ride. With all his given genius capabilities, he was also good at drawing attention to himself and getting involved in various controversies, inspite of his shy and socially awkward personality.

Is Mark a fraud or just a fierce competitor?

Harvard students, the Winklevoss brothers and their friend Divya Narendra accused Mark of intentionally making them believe that he would help them build a social networking site called harvardconnection.com (Later called ConnectU). The lawsuit was filed in 2004. Mark basically thought to himself that he could take their idea and make something better out of it, you can't blame Mark for being a little selfish because the Winklevoss brothers wouldn't have the idea of building a social networking site if they had not seen the attention Mark stirred in campus when he built FACEMASH. According to me, I feel Mark just did what any other man or woman would do with that talent and knowledge, he basically built his own empire all by himself cause he was capable of it from the very beginning.

Zuckerberg approaches his dear friend Eduardo Saverin with an idea he called TheFacebook as shown above which eventually went on to become the Facebook we know today. Soon this site caught Napster co-founder Sean Parker's attention, back then he was one of the biggies when it came to the internet and social industry. It was also his suggestion to drop the word "The" from the site and just keep it Facebook. Parker promised Zuckerberg to spread Facebook over 2 continents while Saverin was left behind in New York handling business development. This was a very complicated time for Mark, from a third person's point of view it looked as if he was enjoying the taste of success and only wanted to associate with those who would just help him become more successful.

After years of legal dispute Mark finally made his settlements with the Winklevoss brothers for $65 million. Eduardo Saverin received a settlement of an undisclosed amount and his name was restored to the Facebook masthead as a co-founder

As of 2018, Facebook has a whooping 2.23 billion monthly users spread over 207 countries and a yearly revenue that is much more than what our imagination can process.

Moral!

Greatness comes with responsibilities and one can maintain that greatness by learning from their mistakes, rectifying them and then just keep moving towards their goal and not look back. And that my friend is Mark Zuckerberg for you.
