Section 377 decriminalised : Love is free.
Take pride in love and your sexuality.
On Thursday, September 6, 2018, the Supreme Court decriminalised a portion of Section - 377 of the Indian Penal Code, a law which has existed from the colonial era finally saw the face of change and social development.
This day bought a lot of people out. Huge parades flooded the streets with pride, joy and freedom among the young, the old & the LGBT community. The beautiful rainbow flags were everywhere. Also, joined by a certain category of straight people in the count of thousands, who are slightly more educated and self aware about the situation unlike many who revolt against love between the same sex.
I firmly believe that Homosexuality is not a disease but, Homophobia definitely is!!
But our country's supreme court seemed to provide a climax just like our movies do.
As per the court, what later on offended many like minded people amidst all the celebration that they decriminalised homosexuality but also mentioned the fact that it's "against nature".
Human beings are a creation of MOTHER NATURE !
Then how is loving each other "against nature"??
Love being the most sought after emotion should not be bounded by the law. It's our birth right to express love to whoever we want, pure & innocent love in any form only brings peace and happiness to our world & nothing else.
Though the change came about late but there are still things under the Section - 377 which need to be dealt with such as same sex marriage, equal treatment in society, adoption, etc. The people who are already fighting for their justice found HOPE on Sept 6, 2018. As an individual I would only wish that there's more progress in the future. These people are normal, they have the right to work with us, live among us, fall in love, get married, adopt children but most importantly have the right to live happily, peacefully & without JUDGEMENT.
